In which I officially begin the season of announcements

Hi everyone!

First of all, a quick apology for the gap in posts, it’s been a busy start to 2023 and I wanted to hold back on the emails until I had something worth putting in one. There’s been a lot of preparations going on, and so I’ve had to be patient, but from this point on its going to be a solid few months of reveals and announcements, so let’s get started!

Heterotopias Goes Physical

Announcements don’t come much fresher than this! As of RIGHT NOW I am announcing a partnership with the wonderful Lost in Cult (Publishers of “Lock-On” and “Handheld History”) to transform the long-running Heterotopias zine into a physical publication!

I’ve been running Heterotopias for more than 5 years now, and across it's 9 issues we’ve published some of the very best writing on game spaces and architecture as well as thousands of incredible screenshots and game photography works. Bringing this massive wealth of material to a physical publication is so exciting, and we’ll have more news on how to support the process and get the zines very soon.

Episode: PURGE Release Date

Perhaps you saw the announcement last week, but if not, I am happy to confirm that Episode: PURGE, the final chapter in the Citizen Sleeper DLC sequence will launch March 30th! Thank you so much for your patience with this, it’s been a lot of work in the background to tie up this final episode (endings are always hard) while simultaneously transitioning over to new projects. It has also been a very emotional process to write a kind of ending to Citizen Sleeper, or at least an ending to this particular chapter.

I’ve been clear that this isn’t the end for the universe of Citizen Sleeper, and in many ways it is a kind of beginning, but all the same there won’t be any more content being added to Citizen Sleeper. So I hope you enjoy the final DLC, and your Sleeper chooses a path that will help them find a future.

Citizen Sleeper on PlayStation

Yep, that’s right, on March 31st both PS5 and PS4 will be getting their own versions of Citizen Sleeper, with all the DLC included and ready to play from day one.

Not much more to say about this, but as a PS5 user, it’s nice to see the game on my home turf so to speak. If you’ve been holding out for this version I hope it was worth the wait!

Citizen Sleeper Anniversary

What is that image? I hear you asking, well consider yourself teased for the upcoming Citizen Sleeper anniversary (May the 5th!) for which I am currently setting in place some very exciting plans! A lot of cool things have fallen just right for the 1 year celebration, and I can’t wait to share them with you when the time is right. And just to keep the expectations in check, the anniversary will be focused on celebrating and expanding upon Citizen Sleeper as we know it so far, not on what comes next…

…we’ll be saving that for later ;)

That’s it for now, but I’ll be back sooner than I was this time for an update on the anniversary plans and some other announcements in April.
